DENVER—Tyler Ruegsegger scored his 11th goal of the season with 39 seconds left to lift second-ranked Denver to a 3-2 win over Alaska-Anchorage Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
With the win, the Pioneers (14-5-3, 10-3-3 WCHA) maintained their lead in the WCHA with 21 points. Minnesota-Duluth is second with 19 points after sweeping Colorado College.
Ruegsegger, who has a point in 11 straight games, also had an assist and Rhett Rakhshani had two assists for the Pioneers. Patrick Wiercioch and Joe Colborne each netted game-tying goals for Denver.
Mickey Spencer and Nick Haddad scored for UAA (6-13-1, 4-11-1).
Denver’s March Cheverie had 20 saves and UAA’s Jon Olthuis had 26.
