LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska’s No. 14 ranking in the final major football polls marks the Cornhuskers’ highest finish since 2001.
The Huskers capped a 10-4 season with a 33-0 Holiday Bowl victory over Arizona on Dec. 30.
They rose to No. 14 from No. 20 in The Associated Press poll of writers and broadcasters and from 19th in the USA Today coaches poll.
The final rankings are Nebraska’s best since the 2001 team finished 11-2 and was No. 7 in the USA Today poll and No. 8 in the AP.
