Two men who were fatally shot Monday night in Denver got into an argument with an “unknown individual” at a liquor store before the shootings.
The names of the victims were not released by Denver police this morning; a third victim, a woman, suffered wounds that are not life-threatening, the Denver Police Department said in a media release.
The drive-by shootings happened about 11 p.m. on Martin Luther King Boulevard a few blocks west of Colorado Boulevard, police said.
One man died at the scene and the second man died a short time later at Denver Health Medical Center.
Police are looking for the shooter, or shooters, who fired shots from, and fled in, a silver or gray SUV.
Police said the victims got into an argument with someone at a liquor store near Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street.
The victims left the store and drove east on MLK Boulevard, stopping at a red light on Steele Street, police said.
“A silver or gray SUV pulls up and someone from that vehicle fired into the victim’s vehicle,” the release said.
The names of the victims were not released pending autopsies and notification of family members.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720 913-STOP (7867).
