EXPERIENCE—After graduation, Hickenlooper took jobs as a geologist. He later went into the restaurant business and ran a successful microbrewery. After he became mayor in 2003, he launched a 10-year plan to end homelessness. In 2006, he turned down a run for the governor’s office. In 2007, he won re-election with 87 percent of the vote.
FAMILY—Wife, Helen Thorpe, and a son, Teddy.
