Home-improvement chain Lowes has been fined $35,000 by the Colorado Department of Agriculture for selling a rodent poison that cannot be legally used or sold in the state.
Inspectors first found Tomcat Ground Squirrel Bait being sold in spring 2006 at two Lowes stores in Colorado.
Lowes removed the unregistered rodenticide. In 2008, department inspectors found the product on shelves at five Colorado Lowes stores.
