CHEYENNE, WYO. — Wyoming junior quarterback Robert Benjamin is transferring to another school.

Cowboys coach Dave Christensen says he isn’t surprised by Benjamin’s decision.

Benjamin started Wyoming’s first three games this past season before true freshman Austyn Carta-Samuels took over the starting job. Carta-Samuels was named the Mountain West Conference’s freshman of the year.

Benjamin came to Wyoming from Phoenix College in Arizona. He has one year of eligibility left and no redshirt year.

At Wyoming, he completed 30 of 66 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown. He threw one interception. He also rushed 30 times for 118 yards.
