DENVER—Colorado’s appointed Democratic senator is raising more money than his GOP challenger.
Sen. Michael Bennet and Republican Jane Norton reported their fourth-quarter fundraising totals Friday. Bennet’s campaign reported raising $1.16 million in the final quarter of the year, with about $3.5 million cash on hand. Norton, former lieutenant governor, said she raised nearly $550,000. She didn’t say how much cash her campaign has on hand.
The numbers will be reported to federal elections authorities. Other candidates in the race, including former Democratic state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff and Republican Ken Buck, did not release fundraising totals Friday.
Direct fundraising reports by candidates do not indicate spending by outside groups in a campaign.
