BOULDER — Homeless people plan to gather today to protest the 353 tickets issued last year to people sleeping in parks and other public property.
Activists say the $100 tickets usually mean jail time for homeless people because they can’t afford the fines. The rally’s organizer, Terry Sternberg, who is homeless, says the city should halt the ticketing because of limited space in shelters and the poor economy.
The rally is planned for this evening outside the Boulder Municipal Building.
