LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska’s Yvonne Turner is the Big 12 women’s basketball player of the week.
It’s the first such award for the senior guard from Omaha, who is averaging 21.5 points, six rebounds and two assists per game.
She poured in a season-high 22 points on a career-high six three-pointers to help the Cornhuskers (16-0, 3-0 Big 12) take a 65-56 win over Baylor in Waco on Sunday.
Nebraska is now ranked seventh, while Baylor (14-3, 1-2) dropped one spot to No. 10.
