BOZEMAN, Mont.—Bozeman police say a thief has stolen a bronze statue of a little girl from a local park, leaving little more than a bronzed shoe—and foot—behind.
Bozeman Assistant City Manager Brit Fontenot says the thief just rocked the statute back and forth until the statue’s right foot broke off.
The 4-foot-tall sculpture by Fort Collins, Colo. artist James Haire is valued at $7,400. Haire lent the sculpture to the city as part of the Gallatin Art Crossing project, an effort designed to make sculpture more accessible to the public.
