SALT LAKE CITY — Marshall Henderson tied a career high with 22 points as Utah defeated Air Force 71-54 on Saturday.

The Utes put the game away midway through the second half with 12 consecutive points that turned a 46-34 lead into a 58-34 advantage. Henderson capped the run with a layup and a pair of free throws with 8:24 to play.

Henderson, who played only 17 minutes in the blowout, sank four 3-pointers to bring the number he has made from long distance this season to 43, tying a school record for freshmen set by Shaun Green in 2005-06.

The Utes outrebounded the slumping Falcons 29-19.

Michael Lyons scored 13 points and Evan Washington added 10 for the Falcons, who have lost 21 consecutive conference games.

Utah has won five in a row against Air Force.

No. 14 BYU 71, S.D. St. 69

SAN DIEGO — Jimmer Fredette scored 33 points and helped key a 15-0 run midway through the second half that carried the Cougars to their 15th straight victory.

UNLV 79, TCU 70

FORT WORTH, Texas — Tre’Von Willis scored 30 points, Chace Stanback added 19 points and Matt Shaw 10 for the hot-shooting Rebels, who made 59.2 percent (29-for-49) of their shots from the field despite going 4-for-15 on 3-point attempts.

The Horned Frogs pulled within 72-70 on a three-point play by Zvonko Buljan with 1:05 remaining, but UNLV scored the final seven points of the game — all on free throws.
