BOZEMAN, Mont.—Bozeman police say they have recovered a bronze statue of a little girl stolen from a local park last week.
Police say the 4-foot-tall sculpture valued at $7,400 was recovered Friday, some 36 hours after it was reported missing from the park in Bozeman.
Police on Saturday reported they found the statue a few miles from the park near a cafe. Police have not identified a suspect in the theft.
The sculpture is by Fort Collins, Colo., artist James Haire.
Haire lent the sculpture to the city as part of the Gallatin Art Crossing project, an effort designed to make sculpture more accessible to the public.
