COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Sheriff’s officials say DNA may help them solve a 2007 liquor store robbery in which the suspect broke a bottle over an employee’s head.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s office said Tuesday they have linked DNA left at the scene of the robbery to 22-year-old Marvin LeClaire, who was already in custody on unrelated charges.
Authorities say he now faces charges of aggravated robbery, second-degree assault and menacing.
Officials say the robbery suspect struck the Colorado Springs liquor store employee with a bottle because the employee chased after him after he left the business without paying. Authorities say the robber was cut during a struggle with the employee.
