Taylor Dent made it to California from the Australian Open in time to witness the birth of his first child — and tweet about everything from his wife’s “massive” belly to her epidural and the joyous arrival of Declan Dent. Dent and his wife, former tennis pro Jennifer Hopkins, rushed to the hospital Monday, and the countdown started. “I’m ready to be the verbal punching bag when the festivities begin,” Dent wrote. The “festivities” got worse before they got better. “It’s awful so far,” Dent tweeted Tuesday morning, but Declan arrived later in the day, weighing in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces. “Wow! 99 percent pure agony and then pure elation,” Dent wrote. “Go Jenny!!”
