Northbound Interstate 25 reopened at 4:20 p.m., after it had been closed since just before 2 p.m. when a man crossing the busy stretch of highway was hit and killed by a semi-truck.
The man’s name has not been released. The reason he might have been in traffic near near West Eighth Avenue is being investigated, said Sharon D. Avendaño, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.
An afternoon traffic jam extended into side streets and downtown Denver while law enforcement detoured traffic during the medical response and investigation.
