OKLAHOMA CITY—Winter weather conditions that have shut down Oklahoma City’s airport also are keeping basketball teams from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State grounded.
On Saturday, Oklahoma State is scheduled to play at Missouri and Oklahoma is to play at Nebraska, but both the Cowboys and Sooners remained in the state Friday afternoon, unable to travel by air.
Oklahoma State spokesman Mike Noteware says it took two hours for the team to make a 70-mile bus trip from Stillwater to Oklahoma City. He says the Cowboys still are hoping to fly to Missouri later Friday.
Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck says the Sooners also hope to leave for Nebraska on Friday night. He says the Big 12 Conference would reschedule the game if the Sooners are unable to make the trip.
