OKLAHOMA CITY — An ice storm that moved through Oklahoma on Thursday and turned into snow Friday kept attendance at Friday’s game down.

The game was officially a sellout, but large groups of seats were left empty, making the Ford Center a quieter place than normal. Still, an estimated crowd of more than 10,000 braved the elements.

The storm also extended the Nuggets’ stay in Oklahoma.

The team left Houston on Wednesday night to beat the storm, then had to stay overnight in Oklahoma City, with a planned shootaround this morning here before leaving for Sunday morning’s game in San Antonio around 1 p.m.

“This is not considered a storm in Denver,” Karl said. “It’s a dusting in Denver.”

Chauncey fan.

Karl was disappointed by the all-star snubs of Chauncey Billups, Arron Afflalo and Ty Lawson.

“I think all of them deserve to be (in) — Arron in the 3-point contest; Ty, I think, has proven to be a top-five, top-10 rookie, easily, in my mind. But the abundance of guards probably forced him out, and the same reason for Chauncey.

“I have no problems with Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Steve Nash being selected. But Chauncey in the last four weeks has been playing better than all of them.”

Footnotes.

After posting just seven assists in Wednesday’s win over Houston, tying a team record for fewest in a game, the Nuggets had 10 in the first half against the Thunder and finished with 17. … Chris Ander- sen’s block of a Russell Westbrook shot midway through the second quarter moved him past Dan Issel for 10th place for the franchise. … The Nuggets are 5-9 this season when scoring fewer than 100.
