New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is hardly a popular figure in South Florida on a good day, but he didn’t help his reputation Saturday night. Ryan gave a one-finger salute, ostensibly directed to fans of the Miami Dolphins, while attending an MMA event in Sunrise, Fla. He was smiling while making the gesture when caught by a cellphone camera. With the NFL quick to jump on players’ bad behavior, Ryan was quick to issue an apology Sunday. “I wouldn’t accept that type of behavior from one of the coaches or players, and it’s unacceptable from me,” a suddenly humble Ryan said.
