WESTMINSTER, Colo.—Authorities say a man has been shot and wounded in a confrontation with Wesminster police.
According to police, officers responded to a report Wednesday night of two people pointing shotguns at a man after he caught them breaking into his truck.
Responding officers, who arrived after the suspects had fled, found a man and a woman hiding on the roof of an out building in a Costco parking lot. Gunfire erupted in a confrontation that occurred after police saw that the man was still armed.
The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to an area hospital.
The Westminster officers involved in the shooting were not injured.
Authorities say the woman was taken to the Westminster police department.
