Snowstorms stalking the Midwest, Northeast and mid-Atlantic states in the past few days have led to cancellation of flights in and out of Denver International Airport.
The impact is not as great as it could have been, officials said Wednesday. DIA spokesman Jeff Green said the airport seemed quiet, with no more people lingering and no more planes parked than usual.
United Airlines, DIA’s largest carrier, “proactively canceled flights, and we issued travel waivers, so a number of people flew to where they needed to be before the storm,” spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said.
Southwest, DIA’s No. 3 airline, canceled about 17 percent of its flights systemwide Tuesday and Wednesday.
DIA’s second-largest airline, Frontier, canceled flights in 12 cities. Ann Schrader, The Denver Post
