DENVER—The executive board of one of Colorado’s major labor unions has withdrawn its endorsement of one of its former attorneys who is running for the Legislature.

The board of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 this week withdrew the endorsement of Crisanta Duran in a state House race.

The Denver Post obtained a letter from new union President Kim Cordova to Duran saying the endorsement was made through “deceitful” means. The endorsement was made while Duran’s father, Ernie Duran Jr., was union president.

Ernie Duran lost his re-election bid to Cordova amid claims of nepotism, which the family has denied.

Crisanta Duran says there was nothing underhanded about the endorsement process.
