BRUSH, Colo.—The State Patrol says it is still investigating the possibility that texting and driving contributed to a rollover crash that killed a preschool teacher.

State Patrol Sgt. John Hahn said Friday there’s a time gap of 49 seconds between when 23-year-old Megan Schneider sent her last text and the first 911 call of the accident on Jan. 28. The State Patrol says Schneider was on her way to school when her pickup went off Interstate 76 near Brush. Her truck rolled more than two times and she was ejected from the vehicle.

The State Patrol previously said slippery road conditions may have also contributed to the accident.

Hundreds of people mourned Schneider at Fort Morgan High School days after the accident.
