GRAND ISLAND, Neb.—The 2010 Nebraska thoroughbred horse-racing season starts Friday at 2 p.m. at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
The central Nebraska track will hold 31 days of racing through May 8.
The first two weeks see Friday and Saturday action with Sunday programs added beginning March 7. Post time is 2 p.m. Fridays and 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
There will be 10 races with full fields on Friday.
The season’s first stakes race is Saturday and will feature older fillies and mares running one-half mile for a purse of $10,000.
