BUTTE, Mont.—Frances “Muggs” Lubick, the mother of former Montana State and Colorado State football coach Sonny Lubick, has died at the age of 93.
The family says Lubick died on Feb. 10 in Apple Valley, Calif., at the home of her daughter, Donna Lubick.
Frances was born on March 22, 1916 and educated in Butte parochial schools. She married Matthew “Doc” Lubick in 1935. The couple had four children.
She worked in the food service industry in Butte, including 25 years at the Finlen Hotel restaurant.
Frances was an avid football fan and followed her son’s college coaching career, attending numerous Colorado State football games.
Her funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Butte, followed by internment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
