BOULDER — A former “Family Ties” child actor who was arrested in December on suspicion of hitting his friend in the face with a stool and later released on bond was arrested again in court Friday morning on accusations that he violated the conditions of his bond by testing positive for marijuana.

Brian Bonsall, 28, who faces third-degree assault charges in the December incident and failure-to-appear charges in connection with a 2007 assault on his girlfriend, pleaded not guilty to those allegations in court.

The judge set trial for June 14, then revoked Bonsall’s bond after Deputy District Attorney Amy Okubo said Bonsall had tested positive for marijuana in one urine test and had several other diluted urine tests.

Okubo said Bonsall has applied for a medical-marijuana license.

Regardless, she said, the conditions of his bond specified “no drugs.”
