THORNTON, Colo.—Thornton police say they arrested three people suspected of beating a 16-year-old boy to death after hitting him with a car.

Police say they believe the crime was spurred by a fight between two rival gangs but they don’t know whether the victim was a gang member.

Police on Friday arrested 22-year-old Adrian Ray Quintana, 19-year-old Antonio Rios, and 20-year-old Lakiesha Vigil.

Investigators say Nathan Bozonier was struck by a car at about 1:26 a.m. Monday before the vehicle’s occupants beat him with a baseball bat.

The beating happened after a house party spilled over to a street.
