The Environmental Protection Agency has granted Denver $491,156 to develop neighborhood programs to cut pollution.

City officials through their Neighborhood Energy Action Partnership plan to help businesses improve environmental practices, give residents alternatives to driving and generally support reliance on clean energy, said Matthew Marshall, city administrator of greenhouse-gas reductions.

Denver was one of 20 recipients of a total of $7.8 million in EPA grants.
