COLORADO SPRINGS — Matt Frattin’s goal early in overtime lifted North Dakota past Colorado College 3-2 on Friday and into fifth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Fighting Sioux (17-11-5, 12-10-3 WCHA) moved two points ahead of the Tigers (17-13-3, 11-11-3), with another game today. The top five teams host a first-round playoff series.

North Dakota’s Brad Malone tied it with 1:42 left in the third period, and Frattin got the game-winner at 2:09 of the extra period.

Malone assisted on Frattin’s game-winner.

Nate Prosser scored both goals for Colorado College.

North Dakota goalie Brad Eidsness made 26 saves. CC’s Joe Howe had 39 saves.
