The Denver women’s basketball team clinched the No. 4 seed for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a 76-63 win over Louisiana- Lafayette at Magness Arena on Saturday.

Sophomore Kaetlyn Murdoch led the Pioneers (17-12, 12-6 Sun Belt) with 24 points for the second straight game, extending her double-figure scoring streak to 19 games.

As the No. 4 seed, DU will not get a bye in the Sun Belt Tournament, which begins Saturday in Hot Springs, Ark.

TCU 73, Colorado State 61

FORT COLLINS — Sophomore Chatilla van Grinsven scored 15 points in the second half, but it was not enough to rally Colorado State (13-14, 5-9 MWC) from a 20-point halftime deficit as Texas Christian (21-6, 11-3) stayed atop the Mountain West Conference standings with the win.

UNLV 69, Air Force 55

LAS VEGAS — Junior guard Raimee Beck led the Falcons (3-24, 0-14 Mountain West) with 17 points to pass the 1,000-point career mark, but the Falcons could not rally past the Rebels (13-16, 6-9) after a slow start.

N.M. Highlands 62, Mesa St. 55

GRAND JUNCTION — Courtney McCaig’s 3-pointer with 2:29 left brought the Mavericks (8-18) within 60-53, but that was their last field goal as their rally fell short.

The Cowgirls (11-15) ended the first half on a 14-4 run after the game was tied at 19.

AREA MEN

Mesa St. 88, N.M. Highlands 75

GRAND JUNCTION — Sean Flohr tied the game, then gave the Mavericks the lead with two free throws with 3:02 left, and Mesa State made 9-of-11 free throws in the final minutes to seal the victory and the No. 1 spot in the RMAC West Division.

Colorado Christian 82, Nebraska-Kearney 69

KEARNEY, Neb. — Justin Neuhaus erupted for 32 points as the Cougars (11-15, 9-10 RMAC) roared back from a six-point halftime deficit with a 51-32 advantage in the second half.

Colorado Christian clinched the last playoff spot in the RMAC East Division with the win.
