GOLDEN, Colo.—A Colorado woman is on trial on charges of trying to arrange the murder of her ex-husband, a Pitkin County prosecutor.
Thirty-six-year-old Elinor Dvir is charged with solicitation of first-degree murder and other counts.
Her trial got under way Tuesday in Jefferson County District Court in Golden, just west of Denver. Dvir lived in Denver but the alleged attempt to hire a hit man was in Jefferson County.
She is accused of trying to hire an undercover police officer posing as a hit man to kill Richard Nedlin in his Aspen home. Nedlin is a deputy district attorney for Pitkin County, which includes Aspen.
Court records say Dvir and Nedlin were in dispute over custody of their child.
The trial is expected to last up to two weeks.
