The suspects who allegedly slashed and then robbed two Metro State students at the Inn of Auraria Monday morning have been identified by Denver police as Nicholas E. Castle and Trey A. Quinn.

Two male Metro State students were attacked in their dorm room at the Inn at Auraria about 9:45 a.m. The students were treated at Denver Health Medical Center.

An Auraria officer answering the 911 call arrested Castle, 21, and Quinn, 22, a few minutes later at Speer Boulevard and Champa Street.

Denver police today also released a surveillance image of two men who are believed responsible for a Feb. 16 robbery and assault at the Inn of Auraria.

Both are seen walking down a hallway. Their pictures were recorded by a building surveillance system and identified by the victim.

In the Feb. 16 assault, two men forced their way into an apartment at the Inn at Auraria, demanded money and assaulted a University of Colorado student with a metal bar before taking his wallet.

Sonny Jackson, spokesman for the Denver Police Department, said the suspects seen walking together on Feb. 16 are not believed to be Castle and Quinn.

After the Feb. 16 assault, the two suspects fled to the 20th floor of the building, left clothing and metal bar and then fled the building.

Police are also investigating a couple of other assaults and robberies on or near the Auraria campus.

One incident occurred at 3:20 p.m. Monday when a Metro student was walking at Seventh and Lawrence Streets.

She was grabbed from behind by a man who tried to take her purse. In the struggle, she was punched in the stomach. The assailant then fled with the purse.

Last Thursday about 9:20 p.m., a Metro State student was shoved down and her purse taken in a parking lot behind the Campus Village, a school dormitory.
