Three accused burglars’ taste for Smiling Moose Delis in the metro region was their ultimate undoing, when two of the men were arrested outside the Erie shop earlier this week, Arvada police said this evening.
Shawn Edwards, 30, and Dion Marquez, 18, both of Northglenn, had gone to the Erie Smiling Moose Monday, not long after an early-morning break-in at Arvada’s franchise.
An alleged accomplice, Eric Olmstead, 23, was arrested at his home in Federal Heights on Wednesday, police said.
Metro police departments recorded 15 after-hours burglaries at Smiling Moose Delis in the region since December, including franchises in Arvada, Westminster, Erie, Louisville and Centennial. Some stores were hit more than once, according to Arvada police.
Burglars took cash and merchandise, police said.
The trio faces multiple second-degree burglary and felony theft charges. They are being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
