Members of Lyndsay Pham’s family wept outside the Aurora Police Department on Friday afternoon as they pleaded for someone — anyone — to come forward with information about her murder.

Pham, 46, was found critically injured just before noon on March 3 in the office of the Descanso Plaza Apartments, 11102 E. 16th Ave. in northwest Aurora. She co-owned and managed the complex.

Pham had been severely beaten, strangled and stabbed.

“Whoever did this took away my wife and mother of my three children,” said Michael Pham, standing near large color photos of Lyndsay. “We are asking the community to help us in this difficult moment.”

Michael Pham and daughters Christina, 22 and Alexandra, 18, and son Bryan, 16, were joined at the news conference by 16 family members and friends, including some who had traveled from California and Missouri to offer support.

Friends, family and the Aurora police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Pham’s death.

“We want to get the attention of people who know about this case,” Aurora police spokesman Bob Friel said Friday. “Lyndsay was brutally attacked, and the whole community wants to see this person put in jail for this heinous crime.”

Friel refused to discuss any details about the murder, beyond saying, “We have assigned a full investigation team to the case.”

Michael Pham said his wife enjoyed helping others regardless of whether she knew them. He said she was a church volunteer, was active in the church youth club and enjoyed raising money for the Vietnamese community.

Lyndsay Pham came to the U.S. from Vietnam in 1975.

Her American sponsors were among the group gathered to grieve her death.

“Lyndsay was spunky and a go-getter. To have this happen to this bright, beautiful girl, it hurts,” said one of her sponsors, Mike Boessen of Loose Creek, Mo.

Lyndsay’s family said hundreds attended a wake they held in her honor Thursday.

“It was a very coward act and senseless,” Michael Pham said. “She touched a lot of lives and didn’t deserve this.”
