DULUTH, Minn. — Brady Lamb had a goal and two assists, and Kenny Reiter had a shutout Sunday as Minnesota-Duluth advanced to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Final Five with a 4-0 win over Colorado College.
Reiter faced just 15 shots in net for the Bulldogs (22-16-1), who won the series opener 3-2. The Tigers (19-17-3) forced a third game when they won 5-2 on Saturday.
Kyle Schmidt had UMD’s only goal of the first period. Lamb scored and assisted on goals by Rob Bordson in the second period and Mike Connolly in the third. Justin Fontaine assisted on three goals.
Connolly had three goals in the series.
Colorado College goalie Joe Howe had 13 saves. He didn’t make a save in the third period.
The Tigers had their share of chances, but failed to convert on all seven of their power plays to finish an anemic 1-for-14 in the three-game series.
CC outshot UMD by a 9-4 margin in the first period, but seldom tested Reiter while finishing with 25 attempts for the game.
Reiter preserved his shutout with a point-blank stop on Matt Overman with 5:45 left to play.
