Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson suffered a “mild” concussion in a fight with Calgary’s Jamal Mayers on Wednesday night, Colorado coach Joe Sacco confirmed after Friday’s practice at Family Sports Center.

“The good news is he was on the bike today,” Sacco said of Wilson. “It’s a day to day situation with him right now.”

The Avalanche hadn’t practiced Thursday, and doesn’t play again until a Sunday meeting on the road with the Anaheim Ducks.

The positive news on the injury front for the Avalanche was that winger Cody McLeod (leg injury) and defenseman Ruslan Salei (torso) went through the full practice today and Sacco said he will have the option of inserting them in the lineup against Anaheim. Adam Foote didn’t practice, but the Avalanche said he wasn’t injured and was taking a “maintenance” day.

Veteran center Stephane Yelle, however, remains out with a leg injury and won’t be making the trip to Anaheim and Los Angeles.
