Former NBA and BYU star Shawn Bradley is offering some tall competition for a seat in the Utah House of Representatives. The 7-foot-6 Murray Republican just beat Friday’s filing deadline to enter the race for the seat held by state Rep. Tim Cosgrove, a Murray Democrat. Bradley said he was encouraged to run by friends and lawmakers. He said he has always been interested in politics and “would like to make a difference in people’s lives.” During his 12-year NBA career, he played for Philadelphia, New Jersey and Dallas. After retiring as a player in 2005, Bradley joined the faculty at West Ridge Academy, a private school for at-risk youths. The Associated Press
