How sweet it is:
Through their family foundation, Denver philanthropists Rob and Lola Salazar have made a $100,000 gift to Escuela de Guadalupe. Half of the money is earmarked for a makeover of the school library that president David Card says will create a “much more inviting and comfortable reading and learning atmosphere for Escuela students. The money will also enable us to purchase more books. It is a remarkable gift.”
Lola Salazar is a former member of Escuela de Guadalupe’s board of trustees. She also owns Lola’s Sugar Rush, a shop specializing in vintage candy and other sweet treats. Lola’s Sugar Rush has won several “best of” awards, and was recently featured on the Food Network show “Unwrapped.”
It’s located at 2490 W. Main St., Littleton, and on Saturday will celebrate its first anniversary by giving free cupcakes to the first 200 customers. Other prizes will be awarded during the day.
It’s all good.
