Larimer Square is in the midst of a fashion makeover, with stores on the move and new merchants popping up on the block. The retail and restaurant district is also hosting a benefit to get shoppers to come down for a look.
Blush is now doing business at 1411 Larimer St., No. 102, selling contemporary women’s fashions from such collections as Rebecca Taylor, Calypso and Velvet (storefront shown at right). “There’s a lot of energy down here; it’s lively,” says Christy Rosen, who runs the store with her mother Casey Rosen. 303-399-7779.
Next door is Violet, which relocated on the square to 1411 Larimer St., No. 101. Owner Stacy McElhany sells women’s clothing from such lines as Ryu, !iT jeans, Shawl Smith London scarves and Lindsay Bloom jewelry. Details at ; 720-932-1655.
New to the square at 1410 Larimer will be Goorin Bros, a hat company founded in 1895. This will be the company’s ninth location and they expect to do a soft opening sometime next week and a grand opening by the end of the month, according to Larimer Square spokeswoman Erika Sauerwein. (A spring design is shown above.)
Taking Violet’s former space at 1439 Larimer St. will be Posh, a gift and home accessory shop owned by Alex and Cindy Ollig. The shop is expected to open by this summer.
Larimer Square will host a clothing drive from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. April 17. Those who donate gently used women’s clothes and accessories — which will be given to Dress for Success and Excelsior Youth Center — will be entered in a contest to win prizes, including a shopping spree. Participating merchants include Blush, Cry Baby Ranch, Eve, Element, Gusterman Silversmiths, Mariel, Scarpaletto, Violet and Victoriana Antique & Fine Jewelry. Shoppers will also get free parking that day. More at . Suzanne S. Brown
