DENVER—A Colorado lawmaker says a lobbyist threatened him and has filed a complaint.

Rep. Wes McKinley, a Democrat from Walsh, says lobbyist Nate Gorman shook his fist and “threatened to cut out my lying tongue” during confrontations over McKinley’s bill that would bar the sale of the Trinidad nursing home.

Gorman, who represents military veterans on the bill, denied making any threats.

Under House rules, the speaker of the House, majority leader and minority leader will review the complaint and decide whether to hold hearings. If charges are upheld, Gorman could be suspended or barred from lobbying.
