DENVER—Denver police have ticketed a pickup truck driver accused of colliding with a city bus that then struck a light pole, sending at least seven people to a hospital.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the Regional Transportation District bus was northbound on Sheridan Boulevard on Tuesday when the southbound pickup turned left in front of it.

Jackson says the pickup driver, whose name wasn’t released, was ticketed because he didn’t have the right of way.

Jackson says five people were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

He says the pickup driver had a cut on the head but was treated at the scene.
