Retail giant Wal-Mart plans to hire 355 workers for a Thornton store opening in July.
The 206,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter is under construction at 7101 E. 128th Ave., at the intersection of Quebec Street.
About 60 percent of the jobs will be full time; the remainder are part-time positions of 34 hours a week or less.
Wages start at $8 an hour and will average about $11 an hour for nonsupervisory jobs, including stockers, clerks and cashiers.
“I imagine our applicant pool is going to be very good and probably very large,” said store manager Charlene Atencio.
The store will offer general merchandise and grocery items, including deli, meat and bakery departments.
Wal-Mart operates 67 of its namesake stores and 15 Sam’s Clubs in Colorado, employing a total of 24,500 workers.
