A man who was fatally shot in Colorado Springs on Monday night has been identified.
The Colorado Springs Police Department identified the victim as 18-year-old Claudio Vega.
Vega, a Colorado Springs resident, was shot “multiple” times in the chest, according to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital.
The shooting happened at about 9:25 p.m. Monday in the 4500 block of Dewey Drive, police said.
A second victim, a 16-year-old, was also shot. He is in stable condition at a Colorado Springs area hospital. His name was not released.
The shootings occurred as two groups of people quarreled in the street.
Police are looking for the driver, or passengers, in two vehicles that were seen fleeing the shooting, police said.
On car was described as a brown low-rider and the other an older SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Blazer.
Police did not discuss a motive for the shooting.
