Officials say a man on probation for selling alcohol to teens who later drove drunk and killed a person has done it again.
Van Thien Pham, 47, of Westminster is currently on probation for his role in the 2007 deaths.
Lakewood police say that last week he was working at Alameda Square Liquors and sold a 24-ounce bottle of Corona beer to an under-aged male without asking for identification.
The juvenile was part of a sting, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
The terms of Pham’s probation prohibit him from working in a liquor store.
Official have asked that his probation be revoked; a June 1 hearing has been set.
Pham was working at the same store, which is owned by his wife, on March 13, 2007, when he sold alcohol to teens who later caused a two-car accident near Green Mountain that killed Samara Stricklen, 17, and injured Seth Mutschler, 20.
Six people were charged following the collision near the intersection of West Alameda and Florida in Lakewood. The driver of the car was 17-year-old Nanette LaFleur. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in a strict youth-offender program.
Pham pled guilty to 10 counts of providing alcohol to a minor and was sentenced to two years in jail followed by three years probation.
He was released from the jail sentence on June 16, 2009, after serving 343 days, according to a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
