Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue along the Front Range Thursday, an encore to Wednesday’s spring turbulence.
Denver has a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday and a 60 percent chance Thursday night. Friday has a 30 percent chance of rain, with a high temperature near 60 degrees both days, according to the National Weather Service.
A low pressure systems could create severe storms with heavy rain and large hail on the plains, according to forecasters. Areas above 9,000 feet could see about two inches of snow, they said.
This afternoon, hail and lightning was reported from a storm that formed over central Aurora late in the afternoon and moved east, dumping several inches of hail, according to the Weather Service.
Thunderstorm watches were in effect for a handful of southern Colorado counties.
