ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—The Denver Broncos have selected University of Indiana linebacker Jammie Kirlew in the seventh round of the NFL draft.
The Broncos also selected Cal cornerback Syd-Quan Thompson in the seventh round after trading Tampa Bay a fifth-round draft pick in 2011 to obtain the Buccaneers’ two seventh-rounders Saturday.
Kirlew was a two-time team MVP and two-time All-Big Ten selection for the Hoosiers.
He played defensive end in college but will play outside linebacker in the Broncos’ 3-4 defensive scheme.
