A 62-year-old man died after being shot multiple times at a Colorado Springs restaurant.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. Sunday and officers found the man in the parking lot of the El Ranchito restaurant, 3970 Airport Road, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

The man was hit with “multiple” gunshots, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later, police said.

The shooting suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Police interviewed several witnesses and the victim, who worked at the restaurant, was described as the “sole target” of the gunman, police said.

Police did not release the victim’s name, nor a motive in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 719 444-7000, or Crime Stoppers at 719 634-STOP.
