She was born less than two weeks ago but already stands 6 feet, 4 inches tall. Cricket, a giraffe born April 14 at the Denver Zoo, can now be seen at the zoo’s giraffe yard with her mother, Heshimu, and father, Dikembe.
During the first two years of a giraffe’s life, it doubles in height to about 12 feet tall, the zoo said. At that rate, visitors can just about watch Cricket grow up before their very eyes. Kieran Nicholson, The Denver Post
