BANGKOK — Authorities have suspended service of Bangkok’s elevated mass transit system amid reports that anti- government demonstrators placed tires on the tracks at one of the stations. Troops were sent into city streets early today and guarded Skytrain stations. The mass transit system was closed before morning service started, causing commuter chaos.
