BOULDER, Colo.—A senior-class camping trip that drew about 200 people to the mountains west of Boulder kept sheriff’s deputies busy through the night helping students who became ill and weren’t prepared for the snowy weather.

The sheriff’s office says some of the people at the Boulder High School camp-out Wednesday became sick from drinking too much. Three students were taken by ambulance to the hospital and three others were taken to an alcohol recovery center.

One student was arrested for third-degree assault and released to her parents.

A tow truck was called to free 40 to 50 vehicles that were stuck Thursday morning. Sheriff’s Cmdr. Rick Brough says the students will be billed for the towing.
