DENVER—The Colorado House Finance Committee has killed a measure that would have allowed grocery stores to sell liquor and other spirits.
The proposal, which was opposed by the growing craft beer industry, was killed Wednesday.
Rep. Buffy McFadyen, a Democrat from Pueblo West, says she doesn’t have the votes to get it passed this year.
The bill would have allowed businesses to convert a retail liquor store license to a liquor-licensed drug store. It would also have allowed a grocery store to transfer ownership of a liquor store license.
